SAM
ANDERSON  as
the MAN Film and television audiences know him as the lascivious school
principal who seduces Sally Field in Forrest Gump, as aloof cardiologist Dr. Jack
Kaysen on E.R. and as befuddled Principal DeWitt on Growing Pains. This past season,
Sam guest-starred on The X Files, delivered the triplets on Friends, fought bad
guys on ABC's miniseries, Tom Clancey's Net Force, and refused to put a dying
woman in a coma on Ally McBeal. He has recurred on such shows as Picket Fences,
and L.A. Law and played right wing commentator Marvin Seaborn on UPN's series
Live Shot. Other features include Permanent Midnight, I Come in Peace, and La
Bamba, where he played Donna's racist dad. Three films soon to be released are
The Independent with Jerry Stiller, Sonic Blast with Ice T, James Russo and Mel
Harris, and Perfect Game with Ed Asner and Patrick Duffy. TV movies and miniseries
include The Man Next Door and Stephen King's The Stand, both for ABC, and a leading
role in NBC's Sleepwalker Murders. Sam is married to a Los Angeles psychotherapist
and is the proud father of six year old twins. JOANNE TAKAHASHI
 as EMIKO TAKASHI
Joanne is a graduate of the American Conservatory Theatre
in San Francisco where she trained with Joseph Chaikin and Anna Deavere Smith
and received her MFA. She has also studied in London with renowned British acting
teacher Elizabeth Pursey. She has appeared in film and television roles on Babylon
5, Young and Restless, USA High, the Emmy-nominated Late Shift, I'm on a Mission
from Buddha on PBS, Future War on the Sci-Fi Channel, and Layin' Da Funk. CEDRIC
HARRIS 
as THE REVEREND CHARLES OSTEEN Cedric graduated
from The Juilliard School and since then has performed at the Public Theatre/New
York Shakespeare Festival's Measure for Measure with Kevin Kline and Andre Brougher,
Venus written by Susan-Lori Parks, Twelfth Night, All's Well That Ends Well, and
The African Co. Pres. RIII, and A Soldier's Play at the Vanguard Theatre. His
regional theatre credits include The Old Settler with Leslie Uggums at the Geva
Theatre, Romeo and Juliet with Calista Flockhart at The Hartford Stage Co., Spring
Awakening at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, A Winter's Tale at the
Utah Shakespeare Festival, and Hamlet at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Cedric
was a series regular on The Game for ABC, as well as guest-starring on such shows
as As the World Turns (recurring), Chicago Hope, and New York Undercover.
MONTANA TSAI 
as ANNIE TAKASHI Montana makes her acting debut
in The Shangri-la Cafe. The seven year old has been modeling and appearing in
commercials since she was 3 1/2 in such ads as Johnson & Johnson, Downey Fabric
Softener, Visa, Talbot's, Land's End, Target, Mike and Ike, and Disney. She takes
violin and Chinese dance classes and has just completed the first grade. |

CHRISTOPHER CHEN 
as TAD TAKASHI Chris works extensively on television
in such roles as PBS' On Common Ground. His feature work includes It Runs in the
Family and Eddie. In New York and regional theatres he appeared in such plays
as Carousel, Guys and Dolls, Brigadoon, A Chorus Line, and Lady Windermere's
Fan. ALBERT CHIEN 
as JIMMY TAKASHI Albert makes his film debut in The Shangri-la
Cafe. The eleven year old studies acting at the Beverly Hills Studios and has
appeared in three plays at Murphy Ranch Elementary School, Charlotte's Web as
Narrator 3, The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet as David, and as the
Brick Pig in The Three Little Pigs. Albert enjoys baseball and is a whiz with
the yo-yo. MONTE RUSSELL
 as GEORGE BROOKS Since
studying acting through Rutgers University Professional Actors Training Program,
Monte has appeared in films such as The Player's Club,Godzilla, and cable movies
such as Lily in Winter, Laurel Avenue and Alien Nation. His television credits
include The Client, The Wayans Brothers, JAG, and his recurring role as Paramedic
Zadro on ER. He recently produced, wrote and directed a short film, Ballad of
a Thin Man. His regional theatre credits include The Letter, Two Trains Running,
Ma Rainey's black Bottom, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Fences, East Texas Hot Links,
Prelude To A Kiss, Three Ways Home and A Few Good Men. KELLI
KIRKLAND  as
HELEN OSTEEN After studying theatre at UCLA, Kelli has appeared
in such television shows as Star Trek Voyager, Family Matters, The Wayans Brothers,
Step by Step, General Hospital and The Young and The Restless. She can currently
be seen as the co-host of Disney's children's game show, Off the Wall.
MARGARET LAURENA KEMP 
as MILDRED BROOKS Margaret was recently
seen by television audiences in Party of Five and Chicago Hope. Her theatre credits
include The Cider House Rules at the Mark Taper Forum, Splash Hatch on the E Going
Down at Centerstage in Baltimore and the Yale Rep, My Life and Flying West,
for which she won a Drama-Logue Award. |
